For the students and faculty at Texas State Technical College in Harlingen, solar energy is now a reality. Thanks to members of the Big Texas Sun Club®, Texas State Technical College Harlingen is now partly being powered by a 10.08 kilowatt (kW) photovoltaic solar array.  The array is expected to produce more than 13,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean, pollution-free energy and offset almost 27,000 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually.  That’s the same environmental equivalent as not driving a car more than 29,000 miles!
