Eastfield College, an integral part of the Dallas County Community College District, is now generating its own pollution-free electricity using power from the sun’s rays. Thanks to the generosity of members of the Big Texas Sun Club®, Eastfield College is the proud owner of a 4.4 kilowatt (kW) photovoltaic solar array. The array is expected to produce more than 8,500 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy and offset approximately 11,500 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually. That’s as much as nearly 700 trees would absorb in one year!
