Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, the premier leadership organization for girls in Houston, TX, is now utilizing Texas sunshine to generate its own clean electricity. Thanks to the generosity of members of the Big Texas Sun Club®, Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council is the proud owner of a 10.08 kilowatt (kW) photovoltaic solar array. It is expected to produce more than 19,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy and offset approximately 27,000 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) each year. That’s the equivalent of planting 1,600 trees or not driving 30,000 miles annually!
