Green Mountain Energy Company’s Big Texas Sun Club® celebrated Earth Day 2010 with the dedication of a 2.3 kilowatt (kW) solar array to the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. The array, made possible thanks Green Mountain customers, is expected to produce approximately 4,500 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity and help offset nearly 6,000 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually! The array will also be used to educate the South Texas community about the benefits of solar energy.
